Someday I will own a '71 or '72 Mustang Fastback

Also someday I plan on buying/restoring a '78 F100 for my Father. He had one. Red, straight 6, and three on the tree (I believe he swapped it to three on the floor later. But sold it the day I was born for a Chevy Celebrity. If choosing your kid plus a Celebrity over your truck isn't love, I don't know what is.

We all dream of owning Ferraris and the like, but what real automotive ambitions (plans) do you all have for the future?

That reminds me, this luxury auto guy has the most badass Boss 302 for sale. He keeps it outside in single digit weather and blizzards though. Here it is.

Grabber blue is one of my favorite automotive colors. Also I'm glad the mileage isn't ludicrously low. I like it when cars are driven, especially great cars like that.

I gotta stop and look at in one day, but by the time I have the chance it'll probably be sold. This guy always has nice cars, just nothing this special.

But three on the floor doesn't rhyme! Three on the tree or four on the floor. Those are your options

I'm planning to build it how he had it set up when it was sold

I'd like my next car to get better gas mileage and have only one bank of cylinders as opposed to two, a rear wiper, and of course a manual transmission. Transverse V6's are impossible to work on and get poor gas mileage.

I like the Matrix XRS/Vibe GT, Astra XR with panoramic sunroof, the G20, and possibly even the Elantra GT or Acura 1.6 EL. Yeah I know the G20 and EL are sedans and not a hatchback/wagon, but they do have luxury and prestige to go with their sportiness and economy.

I am also considering the 1996 E300 diesel. Even though it's a Mercedes and not quite as good as Toyota, and no manual available, but it does have some good points going for it. Luxury and prestige, a hood ornament, exempt from inspection, decent aftermarket support, of course diesel power!!!! Also, the 96 is the newer better-looking more prestigious-looking W210 body, and I think the only year of non-turbo diesel 210. The 4-speed auto trans takes regular dexron ATF as opposed to the more expensive ATF+4 required in the 5-speed autos. In NJ, diesels 97-on are required to get inspection that pre-97 diesels are exempt from.

Very awesome, It's a shame how bad the weather here (northern IL) sucks for cars so much. I never see stuff like that around

Right now I'm in college so I'm in upstate NY, but apparently this place (Northern NJ) is getting hit with a major blizzard.

I've always been a fan of the Astras we got here in the USA. Saturn nailed the styling there. (Or Opel or Vauxhall, whoever styled it.

The diesel wagon sounds like a great idea too. Good gas mileage plus it'll last you forever. Especially if you can do most maintenance yourself. Also, possibly AMG suspension bits would fit

I'm in school in IN. We had a possibility last night of having classes cancelled today due to impending snow. When I woke up this morning, however, there was zero snow and cloudless, blue skies.

Unfortunately the diesel in question isn't a wagon :(

Mercedes stopped selling us diesel wagons after 1987 (the first year of the w124). I do like that 87 124 diesel wagon though, and I'd strongly consider one. I like them better than the 123's.

The weather here in Albany is permanently set to "depressing overcast." Sometimes they'll be snow, but that's it.

I've never actually driven around the city (I don't have a car.... yet ) but judging by how easy it is to get places by bus and my observations, not too long. And it isn't too congested, with somewhat open roads.

I currently have two. A 1968 RS/SS and a 98 SS. My grandparents have a 91 Z28 convertible that I have first chance at if they decided to sell it.

That's awesome, I currently drive a '98 Mustang GT so if you couldn't tell form that fact and what I posted above I'm definitely a Ford/Mustang guy.

However, healthy competition is what made both the Camaro and Mustang such great cars. Much respect to the rivals.

I know someone who was selling a 73 Mach 1 a bit back. I could always check and see if it was sold. Thing was built meticulously. (Detroit area).

My aspirations are just to fix up my Montego and enjoy the hell out of it.

Well when you do have the moneys. Check around the Detroit area, I don't want to say they are EVERYWHERE, but there are a TON of early 70s Mustangs around.

My friend Ben and his dad Joe are big Ford guys too. But his dad found a stellar deal on a drag-prepped but stock interior '68 Camaro and jumped on it. It's a little dinged up from track use but it's still and awesome car.

There is a guy in the camaro club I'm that lucked into a sweet deal on a 67 mustang coupe great car and only paid 700 bucks for it because it wouldn't run and the 16 year old girl hated it

$700? Wow, he's a lucky guy. Same friend Ben and his dad had the shell of a 60's Mustang coupe, I don't remember the year. It was far too rusted to really do anything with though. they sold it to some guy on craigslist.

I never used to like them, because of their slight nose-high rake..

But a lowered one looks great. Staggered diameter wheels even better, but then again, I do like a good resto-mod.

Kinja'd!!!

As long as the character line in the doors and front fenders, is parallel to the ground, or nose-down a little bit... the car looks mean.

This one looks good, but I wouldn't argue with a half inch to an inch more clearance at the top of the rear tires, and the associated additional forward rake.
